15 Minutes of Fame

I was scrolling through Airforum posts on the Canopener rally this morning when I discovered the rally was also the subject of a blog from RV-A-GOGO (full-timers whose blog I follow).  Of course I had to skip over there and read the latest post... Breezin's little red table decoration was there in the middle of the blog, snapped during our open house on Saturday.

A friend and blogger I follow - Postcards from the Road, featured a post with some Airstream info this week, and there at the bottom of the post was a very nice stylized picture of Breezin' !

A T@bber friend does this incredible job with doodling/painting shoes and hobo bags depicting scenes of camping life...  Get ready Crystal, because you just officially crossed over into Airstream fame as well, hope you have your pens and paints ready :-)

Breezin' has enjoyed his 15 minutes of fame.... and his owner has had a pretty good time the last couple of weeks as well!

STILL KICKIN'

Wow, hard to believe the whole summer has flown by and we are mid-way through the fall season already.

It's been a long while since I've posted anything here, but I really didn't have a lot of blog worthy adventures this summer.

I did get to catch the last half of the T@B Coastal Caravan the last week of October.  Four days at Hunting Island with a beachfront campsite and then three days at Jekyll Island with a wonderful group of folks was good medicine for the soul.  The weather was picture perfect all but the very last day.  Good food, good company with lots of campfire chat, bike riding and beach sitting.  Ahhh...

Started with a caravan to The Shatley Spring Inn in Crumpler, NC for breakfast.  Discovered in 1890 by Martin Shatley, the Springs were known for their curative powers and people come to drink or bathe in the waters.  Flowing out of the Little Phoenix Mountain, the water contains numerous elements and is considered one of the purest springs in the world.  But we were there for the food...

Served family style - platters of everything you could think of for breakfast and very good.  Did a little site seeing after breakfast.  Friday night was Trivia night and a campfire which I skipped in favor of some extra sleep :-)

Catching up

(Yes I know it's really Tuesday) I'm catching up on blog posts since my data month started over today and I have a signal here!

Monday was a rainy day but allowed me to catch up on hours at work.  I'm in North Carolina for my second T@B Blue Ridge Rally, which officially starts on Wednesday.  Not in my T@B this year but there are going to be three other airstreams here so I still feel at home.  Sharon of Postcards From the Road blog puts on this rally every year and it's such fun... I can't believe how much work she puts into making sure everyone has a great time.

A Florida friend I met through the T@B group (Judy) and I braved the rain in the afternoon and wandered around West Jefferson to look around.

Little Bit of This and That

I missed my weekly post last week. But truthfully, it's been pretty quiet around here and not a lot of interesting going on. Grace was sick last week.  A trip to the vet, a few antibiotics, and quite a few dollars later she was back to her old self.  I swear she knows when I am saving for a trip!  Spent the rest of the week working and crossing things off the to-do list (like taxes, which I hate).

No - this isn't Grace, but I wish I had taught her to do this!

(please feel free to pass that along if you know anyone looking).  I spent a little time getting Breezin' ready for a road trip but most of that will happen next week.

We've not had the cold weather that the rest of the country seems to be locked in the grip of, but we have our own weird weather phenomena here...

Now time to start planning for a trip to visit my granddaughters and watch some softball.  I am SO looking forward to seeing them again.
